Being among the most favoured messaging applications globally, WhatsApp has gained widespread popularity among individuals from diverse backgrounds. Nevertheless, the absence of versatility in the chat backup feature is one of the most irritating aspects of using WhatsApp. Specifically, WhatsApp still does not allow its users to choose their preferred third-party cloud storage for their chat backup option.

Details of my 2012 MacBook Pro getting broken down

For a long time, I couldn’t find motivation to write articles and there has been sudden slump for doing marketing activities for my websites. Everyone has routine work life activities with many ups and downs, I usually try to overcome that by writing something in my websites and in recent times there have been a major personal issue that was disturbing me for long time. So, I wanted to let it out in my websites and the major reason was none other than my laptop – a 2012 MacBook Pro. Before I get into the details, let me share some background of my laptop and how the grievances were following me all through the years.

• Laptop background: I had bought 2012 MacBook pro in 2016 due to accidental failure of 2011 MacBook pro and I had chosen this laptop due to its customizable options and low budget. Even though the price seemed low, I didn’t have much savings left during the initial years and had to buy it in EMI’s. So, the burden of new laptop was there with me for a whole year, and I was using it casually for my personal activities with the laptop performance meeting my requirements.
• Few niggles and resolved through customizable options: After letting off my EMI burden, I was able to experience my MacBook pro performance for few months and then came the first significant grievance, the slower RAM. Since, 2012 MacBook pro can be upgraded manually by opening the back-lid, I was able to upgrade it all by myself and to my surprise, the performance was not that good. Again, I started to search internet about possible solutions and was doing all troubleshooting steps. To my vein, nothing worked in favor for me and failed miserably. Finally, I was able to diagnose the issue in my laptop and had to invest hefty amount for resolution.

Lack of latest iWork App support for older Macs

I have been using Apple’s office version iWork applications like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote for past few years. With ease of use and hand-off feature support across iOS devices, I felt inclined using iWork applications more than the traditional Microsoft office suite of applications. However, in 2021 Apple introduced new features and some latest updates to its iWork applications and the most disappointing update being lack of support for older macs. If a user creates new workbook with iWork applications and utilizes the latest features in their latest iOS devices, then the same workbook will become unavailable in older Mac’s and will not be accessible. Even if Apple decides to limit all new features for the latest devices, there should have been an option for users to open the workbooks created in latest version of iWork applications in their older macs. Because, at times many users like me trust using Numbers applications for tracking personal expenses and banking transactions. However, with recent backstabbing from Apple, users like me were left out with no options but to revert to Microsoft office suite of applications. MAC's Time machine should enable online backup

I have been using for MAC operating system as my primary device for an exceptionally long time and have also faced situation, where my MacBook pro had died couple of times due to accidental damage. However, most of the times my time machine backup has always been the redeeming quality for me to restore my lost files and office documents. In recent times, making time machine backup in external physical hard drive have been the most frustrating and complicated process. Following are my concerns regarding time machine back up option enabled only on external hard drive: 

• Physical hard drives getting damaged or corrupted: Time machine backup option in MAC is available to enable users have their system or important files backed up and help them during accidental damage or system failures. At times, when the system failed and you wanted to restore your files from time machine, the hard drive might be dead due to accidental drop and at challenging times the time machine files may be corrupted due to interruption on backing up files. These situation makes time machine backups unreliable and pointless during accidental damages. 
• Carrying physical hard drives during travel: The accidental damages can happen at any time and often the accidental damage happens on the travel. Most times, MAC users will not be carrying their physical hard drive on the go and the time machine backup drives are stored in their desk. However, when the accidental damage happens on the road, the pain of recovering important files and data for work is frustrating and most complicated process.

Events of dropping and broken mobile phone screen

It has been long time since I have posted about few activities happening in my day-today life and this post is going to be one such post. In this post let me split the sections into two distinct categories, action section, reaction section and verdict section. 

• Action: My wife had been using android phone for past couple of years and the phone seems to meet my wife’s requirement and for her day-to day activities. All was going well until one fine day, my wife dropped her phone accidentally and out of all her drops, this drop had shattered her phone’s screen and it was completely dead. 

• Reaction: We were completely shell shocked with the phone drop accident and started to look at alternative solutions available for us. With COVID restrictions and shop lockdowns, we had to take immediate resolution to make phone work again and checked with nearby mobile store of the possible solution. The mobile store convinced me for screen replacement and had no other possibility to get it replaced.

Features should be added or unavailable in Mac Numbers

I have been trying to use Mac's numbers as replacement to traditional Microsoft office Excel applications. However, I feel few restrictions while using the applications and Excel application was comparatively eased to use. Let me list down the constraints I faced while using Numbers in MAC system and how Apple can address these concerns to help users like me to migrate completely from Excel application to Numbers. 

• Lack of Sort & Filter options: For most times, I feel frustrated, without filter and sort options and most times I export file as Excel to sort or filter rows to make informed decision. I understand Numbers support sort & filter options, but those options are mostly complicated and hard to use to extract insights from the data. 
• Copy/paste with Transpose option: Excel has unique possibility to convert rows into columns and vice versa, while copy & transforming the data into the Sheets. However, Numbers lack this feature and often I import the data into rows or columns from Excel into Numbers to make business insights
• Customizing Toolbar: While working in Excel, the ribbon includes all-most complete set of functions are available with touch of a button. However, in Numbers it usually takes a while to get used to the functions and few functions are little bit complicated to get used to it. 

Above are all my observations while using Numbers on my Mac and Excel applications with similar requirements and on same data sheets. Canceled Airpods Pro order and placed a new order

Only after placing an order for my Airpods Pro, I realized that, I have not applied my coupon code and the price has marginally decreased after placing my order. However, I did not mind the price increase nor not using coupon code, I wanted to get the product as early as possible and, I was expecting to get a discounted price for the iPhone 11. To my surprise, the price of the iPhone 11 has not even reduced a bit, and I have no option left, other than wait for a discounted sale on other shopping sites. Now, I can either cancel the Airpods Pro order altogether, as I would not have an iPhone for seamless integration or still get Airpods Pro at a marginally higher price and use it alongside my iPad. Decision to move from Airtel Postpaid to prepaid

One fine day, I decided to move from Airtel postpaid to other mobile operator and requested mobile number portability for switching over to new mobile operator. I got the portability request number and within few minutes I got call from the airtel customer support team and the executive who was speaking, convinced me that it would be better I moved from postpaid to pre-paid, if my objective of moving to a new operator was high postpaid bills. The point seems to be valid for me and I was checking about the procedure and was confirmed by the executive that, within four hours the postpaid connection would be moved to prepaid and in addition, my child number can also be transferred to prepaid.
